NYC Guard Taking Big 12 Trip In June

Reporter Frank Mantesta updates the recruiting process of guard Clayton Sterling ...

Boys and Girls high school guard Clayton Sterling will visit Oklahoma State on June 6th. The Big 12 school with their new head coach Travis Ford are very interested in him coming to the campus for a trip.

Clayton is a tough New York City guard with the ability to get to the basket. He has been working on the consistency in his jumper. What we have seen of him this past season tells us it is paying off. He can get his own shot off because of his dribble and quickness.

Clayton has improved his game a lot since we first saw him last summer. He has a good work ethic and is intent on improving. He also recently qualified and did well in the classroom. At 6-foot-2, he can play either guard position.

Western Kentucky was recruiting Clayton but with the departure of Coach Horn their coaching situation is unclear. Tulane, Quinnipiac and Albany have all been mentioned by this website in the past.

Clayton likes the idea of playing for Coach Ford who was a point guard for Kentucky. He told us: "I could learn a lot from him."

Coach Ford has been successful at Eastern Kentucky and also Massachusetts so this looks like a good opportunity for Clayton.
