Clemmings A Big Part Of Playaz' Success

Reporter Mike Sullivan has the story on the Playaz 16 and under team ...

Trevor Clemmings, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound forward/center from Paterson Catholic High School in Paterson, New Jersey, was one of the main reasons why Jimmy Salmon's 16 and under Playaz Club team captured the Rumble in the Bronx title this past weekend.

The 16 and under final was held at Manhattan College while the other important games were played on the campus of Fordham University.

Salmon was very happy with Trevor's performance. He pointed out that he was one of the key players in helping the Playaz 16 and under team win the championship.

Clemmings is a 2010 prospect who impressed the reporters on this website many times over the past season. He is a space eater with physical tools and the ability to ring up points around the rim.

If Trevor chooses to play basketball down the road, he's likely to land many offers. It is still early in his recruiting process, but schools like Rhode Island, Massachusetts, St. Joe's, St. John's, Seton Hall, Rutgers, and Pittsburgh were previously mentioned.

What hasn't been mentioned yet is that Clemmings is going to play football next season. Hmmm. A tight end with good hands and speed and goes about 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds. Sounds like Trevor might have to choose between two sports down the road.
