LI Prospect Finishes Up Several School Camps

Reporter Mike Sullivan has an update on the summer status of Tobias Harris ...

Tobias Harris, a 6-foot-7 rising junior prospect from Long Island, N.Y., finished up a busy June of unofficial visits and school camps.

June 24th-25th

According to his father, Torrel, the "Marquette elite camp was very intense. You had to play at a high level of intensity. (There were) lots of high level intensity drills.

"The school is great and the coach is committed to winning a National Championship ... Coach Buzz and his staff work everyone hard. (He's) a very energetic coach who cares about his players...."

June 26th

According to his father, Torrel, the "Texas elite camp was good. Tobias had a chance to talk with Coach (Rick) Barnes and visit the UT campus in Austin, Texas. Coach Barnes told Tobias he loves the way he plays with his natural instinct for the game and that if he continues to work hard he could be real special player."

June 27th

Harris took visits to two different schools -- UCLA and Southern California.

Harris indicated he thought Coach (Ben) Howland's staff instruction technique camp was excellent. The UCLA coach recently signed a seven-year extension.

June 28th

Tobias took unofficial visit to USC then watched one of his friends, Renardo Sidney, play a summer high school game.

Mr. Harris said the unofficial visit to USC was a good one for his son. "The USC coach was great. Tobias really like the campus and the facilities were great."
