Rocks' Guard Focus Of Attention At Disney

Reporter Mike Sullivan had a chance to interview guard Taran Buie ...

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLORIDA -- The college coaches have taken a lot of their time to show their love to Albany City Rocks' guard Taran Buie, 6-foot-2 from Bishop Maginn High School in New York State. It will be a tough decision because there are so many high quality basketball programs that desire Taran in their future backcourt.

"I just want to play," said Buie, when asked about a particular position.

Taran can play either backcourt position. At times, Albany City Rocks head coach Jim Hart will utilize Taran to handle the ball. And there are other occasions when Kameron Ritter is asked to be the lead guard and Buie moves over to the shooting guard slot.

The coaching staffs of Georgia Tech and Syracuse have been very visible here at Disney World, watching Taran's every move. "I know the faces," Buie said.

"I'm open right now, it's early," he added.

For now, Buie just wants the Rocks to land a title while down here in Florida. Taran will also play in the National AAU tournament to be held later this week at the Wide World of Sports complex.
