Lance could attend almost any college/university he wishes. He is a strong, 6-foot-6, 205-pound versatile player who can compete and be a factor at many positions on the court.
"I don't worry about positions," he said. "I just try to do whatever I can to help my team win."
Stephenson, who has helped head coach Tiny Morton win a few City titles already at Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, N.Y., is an impact player on both sides of the ball.
"I get more satisfaction shutting down the other team's best player," he said. "It has to do with working hard and pride."
There's never been any question that Stephenson wants to win badly. He has a boatload of skills and a mountain of energy. It's placing these two wonderful aspects of his game and making them mesh properly.
"I like coach Self, I like the school and the players that are currently there," Stephenson said. "The tradition there is great. Those are some of the reasons why I like Kansas."
On Memphis: Coach Calipari is one of the best coaches. He has the experience of being in the NBA so he knows what it is like. They had players that have gone to the NBA. I like his style of play too."
