Football Star Can Also Play Basketball

Reporter Mike Sullivan profiles the athletic career of Dontae Johnson ...

Dontae Johnson has the best of both worlds. He has a high skill level to play division one college football. And the 2010 prospect also is good enough to take a shot at playing college basketball when he finishes up his high school career.

Johnson, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound forward who attends The Pennington School in Pennington, New Jersey, already has football programs following his progress.

"He is considered one of the top safeties/wide receivers in the country in the class of 2010," said his AAU coach, Matt Paul of NJABC.

"He can run the 40 in 4.5 and hits people like a Mack truck," added Paul. "He is hearing from all high major division one football programs in the country including Maryland, Penn State, Rutgers, Oregon, Michigan State, Miami, Wake Forest, Michigan, Ohio State."

And the way Johnson has improved in basketball, he could also compete effectively on the division one college basketball level. Paul said Johnson is open in his recruiting process.
