St. Dominic Senior Takes Campus Trip

Reporter Mike Sullivan details the recruiting process so far for St. Dominic center Paul Bilbo ...

Paul Bilbo, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound center/power forward from St. Dominic High School in Oyster Bay, New York, took an official visit to Manhattan this weekend, according to Bayhawks head coach Rob Pavinelli.

Pavinelli spoke to us at IS8 today as St. Dominic lost a tough game to the Rangers, 47-43.

"He finished up his visit to Manhattan now he has a visit to Colgate next weekend," said Pavinelli. "After he takes his visit to Colgate, he'll visit Hofstra."

Pavinelli told us that each of the programs on his list have offered a free ride. "He spent some time with the New York Panthers over the summer," said Pavinelli.

"Gary Charles and the Panthers were very good to him. He gained some experience, had a change to go to Las Vegas and see some tough competition."

The lefty big man has some agility near the rim. He uses his body to shield his defenders on drives to the basket. He recorded eight points in this game but his effort was suppressed by early foul trouble. He missed huge chunks of time in the second and third quarters.

Bilbo eventually fouled out with 5:06 remaining in the fourth quarter and St. Dom's was holding a 37-34 lead.
