Previously, schools like Syracuse, DePaul, Memphis, Pittsburgh, Providence, St. John's, Washington St., UCLA, Marquette, and USC had either scouted or shown interest in Suero, according to Jaklitsch.

Suero comes from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He only arrived in the United States in February of 2007 to play for Our Savior New American.
