Albany City Rocks Big Man Has D-1 Interest

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a free look at the individual game of Albany City Rocks big man Brice Kofane ...

Brice Kofane, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward from The Miller School in Charlottesville, Virginia, became a key member of the 16 and under Albany City Rocks' AAU program over the summer. Kofane added strength and athletic pop around the basket for head coach Jim Hart.

"He's great to have on the team because he helps you so much around rim," Hart said. "Whether he's rebounding, dunking a missed shot or blocking shots, he gives you a spark."

Kofane, a junior and member of the 2010 class, is a battler around the basket. He loves mixing it up inside the paint and doesn't mind banging bodies to get rebounds and put backs.

Our evaluation of Brice in the many times we watched him down in Disney World at the Wide World of Sports complex was a player to watch and someone who can go mid to high level.

Big East, Atlantic Ten, and ACC schools have started to express interest. However, Massachusetts and Fairfield are favorably mentioned early on by Hart as being schools of interest.

According to Hart: "Fairfield will be at the top of the list. He's already been there and likes it a lot."
