Speedster Finishes Up Unofficial Campus Trip

Reporter Mike Sullivan has an update on the recruiting status of Dondre Whitmore, who took an unofficial campus visit ...

Dondre Whitmore, a 5-foot-10, 155-pound guard out of +Trenton Catholic Academy in Hamilton, New Jersey, did take his unofficial visit to Robert Morris University.

"He had a good time," said New Jersey Athletic Basketball Club head coach Matt Pauls.

Whitmore, a 2010 prospect, is a current junior who has attracted early division one schools due to his ability to motor around the court.

"He had a chance to meet the coaches and team at Robert Morris," said Pauls. "He liked the visit. He's also thinking about taking more visits as the year goes on."

Pauls previously told us that Iona, Rider, Robert Morris, and Fordham were among the schools on his early list.

"NEC, MAAC and CAA schools are all involved," said Pauls. "So he'll probably take more unofficial visits over the next couple of months."

PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF DONDRE WHITMORE'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: Consistency is an attractive part of Whitmore's game and Pauls feels Dondre is on the right track to start landing some division one scholarship offers.

Whitmore is a terrific competitor too and Pauls appreciates his toughness. "He has a great deal of energy and it never stops."

+ Trenton Catholic Academy was previously named McCorristin Catholic High School.
