Deer Park Prospect Sparkles At All Star Event

Reporter Mike Sullivan has an update on senior prospect Josh Malone, who recently was given an honor while participating in an all star game on Long Island ...

Josh Malone, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard/small forward from Deer Park High School in Deer Park, N.Y., continues to sparkle in the events he competes in this summer.

According to his AAU head coach, Torrel Harris of the Unique All Stars, Malone had an exceptional game in an All Star game held on Long Island.

"He stood out at the Nassau versus Suffolk All-Star game," said Harris. "He scored 20 points, had six rebounds, five steals and three assists. He was the best player on the basketball court." Named the Most Valuable Player, Harris has been impressed with Josh's play too at IS8. "Malone is a multi-faceted player with many weapons to use at his disposal," Harris said.

The balanced offensive game is helped by Josh's athletic skills too. "Josh Malone has incredibly quick first step to the basket, possesses great ball handling skills, and can shoot from all spots on the floor," Harris said.

Malone is also a good student. Currently, he has interest from Columbia, Fairfield, Siena, and Stony Brook.

He didn't receive a lot of exposure this summer due to not being available to play during the July evaluation period. So the next several months are his chance to showcase his value.
