OSNA Guard Prospect's List Expands

Reporter Mike Sullivan has an update on the recruiting status of Our Savior New American guard Chris Hampton ...

Chris Hampton, 6-foot guard prospect from Our Savior New American High School in Centereach, N.Y., has seen his list expand, according to Pioneers assistant coach Eric Jaklitsch.

Hampton, who transferred before the 2007-2008 season from Cardozo High School in Bayside, N.Y., is a 2010 recruit, enters his junior season for the Pioneers. He is expected to be a bigger part of the OSNA offense this season.

Last year, Hampton started off slowly, trying to adjust to his new surroundings and teammates after transferring from Cardozo High School in Queens.

Hampton had a decent summer and played at times for the Panther's 16 and under AAU program. He was more confident with the basketball.

"Delaware called expressing interest," said Jaklitsch. "He's still open and working hard here."

Previously, the list included St. John's, Marist, and Fordham. For Hampton to attain high level scholarship offers, he has some work to do. He will need to strengthen his frame and his ability to finish consistently near the rim. And the perimeter game needs to be polished.
