Cheek Says He Expects To Visit Four Schools

Reporter Mike Sullivan had a chance to speak to Dominic Cheek yesterday afternoon after the talented prospect helped the Playaz Club Senior team advance to the semifinals of the IS8 Fall League in South Jamaica, New York ...

It was a quiet game for Dominic Cheek, the 6-foot-5 guard/forward from St. Anthony's High School in Jersey City, New Jersey. He only recorded 12 points on a limited amount of touches. But he was fine with that after the Playaz Seniors team defeated the Unique All Stars (Tobias Harris, Jeronne Maymon, Russell Smith) advance to the semifinals next Saturday.

Unfortunately for Jimmy Salmon's AAU program, Cheek won't be playing in the semifinal game. "I could make it for the championship game the next day, ... maybe," said Cheek with a smile.

The reason Cheek won't be attending the big playoff game is he has a travel arrangement. "I plan on visiting Kansas," he said. "If I get done in time, I could be here for the final. I'm not sure."

Cheek said he is looking forward to his campus visit. "It's a great school, they have a winning tradition and a great coach," he said.

Cheek thought he would take three more visits before he chooses a school. The senior said he hopes to visit Memphis, Pittsburgh, and Indiana. He also has visited Villanova and keeps the Big East school in the serious mix.

"I don't have a favorite or any school that stands out right now," he said. "I just want to take my visits and then think about deciding."
