New Jersey Guard Will Add To Rams' Strength

Reporter Mike Sullivan outlines the individual game of New Jersey guard Lance Brown, who helped the Playaz Seniors team advance this past weekend in the Fall IS8 League playoffs in South Jamaica, New York ...

The Fordham basketball staff has done an exceptional job of evaluating and then sealing the deal with several players in the tri-state New York area.

Recently, this website profiled the progress of forward Chris Gaston, a member of the Playaz Seniors AAU program who is now at New Hampton Prep.

Gaston was a big reason why Jimmy Salmon's AAU program advanced to this Saturday's semifinals in the IS8 Fall League playoffs. Gaston is committed to Fordham.

Another reason Fordham basketball fans have reason to be excited is the commitment from Lance Brown, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound wing and senior from Paterson Catholic High School in Paterson, New Jersey.

Brown chose Fordham after receiving additional offers from Robert Morris, George Mason, and Quinnipiac.

Lance showed he has the ability to drain perimeter shots when given an opportunity to touch the ball. While Gaston, Brian Oliver, and Dominic Cheek are the three big offensive options for the Playaz Senior team, Brown does make the most of his touches.

BRIAN TOWEY'S AND MIKE SULLIVAN'S PREVIOUS REPORT: Fordham, by adding Jared Grasso to its staff, has helped itself in the recruiting wars around the New York City area.

Grasso worked hard in July too, especially down in Orlando where his brisk pace from court to court was very visible.
