Former Boys & Girls Forward Makes A Decision

Reporter Brian Towey has a commitment story on former Boys & Girls forward Kevin Anderson, who recently made a college decision ... Anderson is now at Technical Career Institutes in New York City ...

Kevin Anderson, a 6-foot-9, 215-pound center/power forward from Technical Career Institutes in New York, N.Y. is committed to Cleveland St., according to T.C.I. coach Pernell Hosier. The sophomore made his decision on an official visit to the school last week.

"He went to Midnight Madness and he loved it," said Hosier.

A long and slender post player, Anderson runs the floor and changes shots with his length. He missed all but four games as a freshman at T.C.I. due to an ankle injury. Hosier said that Cleveland St. will petition the NCAA for a medical redshirt to attempt to regain the extra year of eligibility for Anderson.

"They're going to appeal (for the injury)," said Hosier. "He'll get three years of eligibility (if they win the appeal)."

A Brooklyn native, Anderson arrived at T.C.I. after a brief stint at the College of Southern Idaho during the summer before his freshman year. Prior to junior college, he spent time at God's (Texas) Academy. Originally, he attended Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn.
