New Jersey Prospect Has Early D-1 Interest

Reporter Mike Sullivan had a chance to speak to NJABC head coach Matt Pauls about one of his players, 2010 prospect Tyler McNeely, a forward who has some early division one interest ...

Tyler McNeely, a 6-foot-7 power forward from Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey, is an aggressive forward near the rim who is already receiving some quality division one looks by several academically minded colleges/universities.

According to his AAU coach, Matt Pauls, McNeely, a 2010 prospect, has early division one interest from Yale, Penn, Penn State, Columbia, Brown, Princeton, Lafayette, Lehigh, and Bucknell.

"Tyler is a punishing forward who hits the glass hard, and over the summer, greatly improved his range out to 17 feet," said Pauls.

Pauls stated that McNeely is improving several parts of his individual game. "He is also getting better at putting the ball on the deck and attacking the rim," said Pauls.

The highly regarded AAU head coach also added: "He is built like a linebacker, and is extremely physical. Tyler is probably a division one three man, depending on how much bigger he gets."

A solid student, Tyler will have some tremendous opportunities down the road in deciding where he wants to go to college.
