Brooklyn Prospect Loves Being At Post

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on former Boys & Girls prospect Brandon Romain, who is in the process of trying to make improvements ... Romain was impressive to us last season as a player to watch for in the next year ...

Brandon Romain has always had the ability to play a decent level of division one college basketball. The 6-foot-3, 165-pound shooting guard who played last season at Brooklyn's Boys and Girls High School, had previously considered going to a prep school.

But his dad, Phil, said a great opportunity came along. "Brandon is at Post University in Waterbury Connecticut on a full ride which always helps in this economic environment," Mr. Romain said.

"Because of some NCAA eligibility problems he was unable to attend Valparieso University in Indiana or Florida International University in Miami, along with the several other Atlantic 10 offers that he received."

Romain has settled in nicely at Post. "He likes it at Post and will certainly have a big year."

"The good thing is that he is performing well in the classroom and the basketball court where he is expected to be the starting shooting guard."

Previously, there had been some recruiting interest while Brandon was at Boys & Girls from St. Bonaventure, Quinnipiac, George Mason, and Rhode Island.

PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF BRANDON ROMAIN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: A rangy, slashing guard, the lefthander has an unorthodox game and an exceptional wingspan which helps him play the passing lanes. He is frequently around the ball.
