Fordham Signs Quality New Jersey Prospect

Reporters Mike Sullivan and Brian Towey have the story on Lance Brown signing with Fordham University today ...

Fordham sealed the deal today with Paterson Catholic wing guard Lance Brown, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound senior guard.

Brown, who helped Jimmy Salmon's Playaz AAU program land a coveted IS8 Fall League championship, gave his commitment a few months back to Fordham, enabling the Rams to continue building an impressive roster for the future.

Brown can help a program in several ways, including scoring from many spots on the floor. Lance signed his letter of intent with the Rams today.

Lance chose Fordham over scholarship offers from Quinnipiac, George Mason, and Robert Morris.

PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF LANCE BROWN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Lance Brown has good quickness but the key to his college career will be the consistency he achieves in his perimeter game. If this area is solved effectively, Brown should be a player of impact for many years at Fordham.

While he has quickness, Brown's improved perimeter game was noticeable at IS8 and during the summer. There was plenty of offensive talent on the Playaz Senior team but it's important to note that Brown didn't force the issue on his limited touches.
