New Jersey Sophomore Worth Watching

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a player prospect look at the individual game of Ryan McCoy, a player who competes in the state of New Jersey ...

Ryan McCoy, a 6-foot-6, 180-pound forward from Montgomery High School in the state of New Jersey, is likely to have several division one basketball programs watch him this season.

McCoy is an attractive recruit because he's just a sophomore and already has some size and skills. There are many in the tri-state area that believe he'll land some quality division one offers by te time he is competing in his senior season.

Among them is NJABC AAU head coach Matt Pauls.

"He's emerging as one of the better players in the area from his class. He can play the wing position. He is one of the best pure shooters in the 2011 class (New Jersey)," said Pauls.

Ryan works hard both on the court and in the classroom. So he could have a wide range of schools recruiting him in the future.

The schools being mentioned early in his recruiting process include Davidson, Robert Morris, and Cornell.

McCoy is open in his recruiting process. But we'll provide you updates on how his season moves along.
