Long Island Star Out For Two Months

Reporter Mike Sullivan has the story on the ankle injury Tobias Harris suffered on Thursday during a practice ... Sullivan had a chance to get the information from his family ...

Tobias Harris, a talented 6-foot-7 swingman from Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, New York, injured his ankle and will likely be sidelined close to two months, according to his father, Torrel.

"(He hurt the ankle) at practice on Thursday at Long Island Lutheran High School," said Mr. Harris.

This follows a couple of battles with serious ankle sprains, including one during the summer.

"Doctors revealed after examination that Tobias has suffered torn ligaments in his ankle," Mr. Harris stated. "Tobias will be out six to eight weeks and in a cast for two to three weeks as these ligaments heal."

This is the same ankle that Harris injured during the summer, Mr. Harris confirmed.

"It most likely never properly healed due to Tobias' hectic summer schedule," Mr. Harris said.

A junior prospect, Tobias has many high division one offers on the table. He's also taken numerous visits to many of the top basketball programs around the country. He is expected to cut his big list down sometime after the basketball season concludes.
