Danny Lawhorn, a 5-foot-10, 155-pound junior point guard From Hartford Public High School in Hartford, Connecticut, is a player that has recently received praise from one of the area's top AAU head coaches.

In a report filed by senior writer Brian Towey, Connecticut Basketball Club, J.R. Hargreaves, went out of his way to praise Lawhorn's individual game.

"He's a sleeper. His biggest strength is his ability to create off the dribble, getting guys shots. He can really score, and he's very fast with the ball."

Some division one programs are starting to get involved with Lawhorn, who will likely land more interest as the high school basketball season progresses.

Among the schools that have shown interest: Delaware, schools from the MAAC and NEC (schools like Fordham, Stony Brook, Fairfield, etc). It's likely these conferences which feature quality academic schools too will keep track of Lawhorn's high school season.

HARGREAVES ON DANNY LAWHORN'S LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

"He has to learn how to run a team," said Hargreaves. "He's gotten away with it because he's so fast and able to get by guys. His game management skills at the next level- that's what he needs to work on."
