OSNA Senior Guard Is Working Hard For Offers

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a player profile update on the recruiting status of Our Savior New American senior guard Rayner Moquete, who is working hard to secure some scholarship offers this season ...

PLAYER PROFILE UPDATE: Rayner Moquete

HEIGHT: 6-foot-1

WEIGHT: 177 Pounds

CLASS: 2009, A Current Senior

POSITION: Point Guard/Shooting Guard

HIGH SCHOOL: Our Savior New American in Centereach, New York

HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH: Rev. Ron Stelzer

HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT COACHES: Bob Bass and Eric Jaklitsch

AAU PROGRAM: New York Elite

NEW YORK ELITE AAU HEAD COACHES: Eric Jaklitsch and Chris Phillips

PREVIOUS EVALUATION PRODUCED BY MIKE SULLIVAN, FRANK MANTESTA AND BRIAN TOWEY: Coming off a solid summer in which Rayner played well against high quality high school competition, he's opened himself up to be recruited by a nice range of schools.

College scouts will be looking to see how consistent he is in hitting the open jumper as well as his ability to beat his man with his dribble to set up open teammates with his passing skills.

*Moquete is playing in the backcourt with a more confident Chris Hampton. It would be nice to see Rayner start knocking down the outside jumpers, especially in in situations when Hampton opens up passing lanes with his drives to the basket. This is what we will be looking for over the next few months as we watch the Pioneers play.

COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES OF INTEREST: Colgate, Manhattan, Holy Cross, La Salle, Princeton, Cornell, Columbia, Fordham, Central Florida, Yale, Marist, NJIT, Quinnipiac.
