2010 New Jersey Prospect Worth Watching

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a free look at the individual game of New Jersey prospect Chase Plummer, who competes for one of the nation's top high school coaches in Kevin Boyle ...

Chase Plummer, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound combo forward from St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey, is a player worth watching over the next year.

He has several positive aspects working for him. First, he competes for one of the best high school coaches in Kevin Boyle at St. Patrick High School. Boyle is a hard worker who strives for perfection. His teams work hard and Kevin is constantly coaching, imploring his kids to handle each possession like it's their last.

Second, Plummer will also have a summer filled with teaching as he will play for Matt Pauls' Team NJABC AAU program. Pauls' team was very impressive last spring and summer. The players improved under Pauls' coaching skills. Plummer will benefit from this.

PREVIOUS EVALUATION ON CHASE PLUMMER'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: Plummer is a tough nosed player who thrives near the rim in one-on-one battles. He has a solid mid-range game.

The areas Chase is currently working on to improve include ballhandling and his on-the-ball defense.

"I'm confident he is a mid-major division one wing," said Pauls.

Playing under one of the best high school coaches also has to help Plummer's chances to land college scholarships in the future. The 2010 prospect has strong interest from schools in the Atlantic Ten, NEC, the Ivy League and the Patriot League.
