GARDEN CITY, NEW YORK -- Eric Klingsberg wrecked the Kellenberg defense for 28 points to lead Holy Cross High School to a 67-51 victory in the Tom Crotty Memorial Classic held on the campus of Adelphi University.

Klingsberg scored 14 of his points in the first half, helping Paul Gilvary's program forge a 33-23 lead. It was Eric's basket at the buzzer that provided the margin at half.

Klingsberg also had three of his four three-pointers in the first 16 minutes of play.

When Kellenberg would make a run, Klingsberg had plenty of help. Joseph Monagan added 14 points while teammates Evan Conti contributed 12 points and Sharif Mair scored 10 points.

Kellenberg had solid efforts from Christopher Lyone (13 points, three three-pointers), Ryan Kane (eight points) and Aaron Stirrup (seven points).

In the past this event has been held at Hofstra and St. John's University. Adelphi has a beautiful facility and there was a nice crowd for all seven games played today.
