"Our team is 17-4," said Lawrence. "I'm working hard on all parts of my game. I'm hoping I can help the team out next year."
Lawrence is a smooth moving player who competed last season at St. Raymond's High School in the Bronx, New York.
It was last November, at a press conference near the soon to be demolished Yankee Stadium, that Lawrence signed his letter of intent with St. John's University.
Lawrence has had an impressive high school and AAU career here in the New York area. He has played for the Long Island Lightning as well as Gary Charles' New York Panthers' program.
PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF OMARI LAWRENCE'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:
A swift moving lefty guard, Lawrence can dazzle you with moves along the baseline and produces points in bunches. He can score points from many places on the court and has the ability to deliver baskets against the bigger bodies near the rim.
WHAT OMARI LAWRENCE PREVIOUSLY SAID ON HIS DECISION:
"I feel St. John's is the best place for me. I'll have the opportunity. I'll work hard and hopefully we can win a lot of games."
