New York Area Underclassman Has Some Upside

Reporter Mike Sullivan updates the player profile of a prospect that has intrigued us over the past two years ... big man Brian Wilson is trying to find stable ground both on the hardwood and in the classroom ...

PROFILE: Brian Wilson

HEIGHT: 6-foot-7

WEIGHT: 212 Pounds

POSITIONS: Power Forward/Center

CLASS: 2010, A Current Junior. But will Wilson be reclassified to the 2011 class or land at a JUCO in the future.

We like his upside. He's been at Satellite Academy this season and the coaching staff works hard with Wilson.

He's improved his individual game too.

HIGH SCHOOL: Brian played last season at Long Island Lutheran in Brookville, New York. He spent a good deal of his time coming off the bench but was given some key minutes in some big games.

He is currently at Satellite Academy in the Bronx, New York. The basketball program is well run and Wilson should benefit.

"I'm trying to work on all parts of my game," he said. "I'm trying to focus on that as well as schoolwork."

PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF BRIAN WILSON'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

WHAT MIKE SULLIVAN SAYS: I like Wilson's individual game. He needs to play hard all the time. I thought I saw that against Our Savior New American and he produced some solid results. The kid can play.

Brian has the size and feet movement around the rim to score in traffic. It's wanting the ball consistently on each possession that will help him become regarded as one of the best frontcourt players in the New York area.
