St. Dominic's Sophomore Worth Watching

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a free player look at the individual game of Ahmad Reid, a 6-foot-3 sophomore from St. Dominic High School in Oyster Bay, New York (Long Island) ...

St. Dominic head coach Rob Pavinelli has always done a great job in developing players and teaching the fundamentals of the game. His high-energy way of approaching the game of basketball has always been appreciated by the reporters here on this website.

So when you see the St. Dom's team get a boost off the bench, it's a good bet Ahmad Reid, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard/small forward, is involved.

Pavinelli is always cautious when discussing underclassmen too. But he has high hopes for Reid and his individual game.

PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF AHMAD REID'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Reid especially impressed us in the second half of St. Dominic's battle with Cardozo High School in the Tom Crotty Memorial Classic held at Adelphi University on Long Island.

Ahmad help produce some exciting points, stopping also a Cardozo run of baskets in its track by nailing three clutch three-pointers.

Reid also showed athletic skills as well, darting up and down the court, and finishing effectively in transition.

At about 6-foot-3, colleges and universities will look to see if it's possible Reid can play the shooting guard position. If he is capable of doing this, he'll have plenty of division one interest.
