As each game evaporates, it's become apparent that Anthony Estes, a forward from Our Savior New American in Centereach, New York, has made nice progress in his individual game under the Pioneers' coaching staff.

Estes, who helped Rev. Ron Stelzer's team produce a tough victory over Edison Academy of New Jersey, scored six points and made some key defensive plays too.

"I'm just trying to work on all parts of my individual game," Estes said after the game held inside the Pioneers' home gym.

"I'm far from a perfect player. I have a lot to work on. I'm hoping to make improvements each game and practice."

Estes, 6-foot-6 1/2 and 190 pounds, has made improvements. He seems to have made some nice progress in all aspects of his game since we started watching him last year.

"I try to work on my shooting, my ballhandling, my defense whenever I can," said Estes. "Whenever I have a chance I work at it."

Only a sophomore, Estes is likely to take a year of prep school in 2010-2011. "I have to see how things go," he said.

Early on in his recruiting process, some high quality programs are keeping in touch. "I've heard from Maryland, West Virginia, Georgetown, Purdue, USC, Miami, and Boston College," said Agosta.

His recruiting process is in its initial stages. More schools are finding out about him. He has nice size, moves fairly well, and does a good job battling bigger bodies near the rim.
