Big 12 School Watches LuHi Practice Session

Reporter Mike Sullivan updates the recruiting status of Long Island Lutheran forward Tobias Harris, who has recovered nicely from a bad ankle injury to lead his team to a winning streak over the past few weeks ...

Tobias Harris, a versatile combo forward from Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, New York, had a coach from Oklahoma watching him practice yesterday, according to his father, Torrel.

The visit by Oklahoma comes on the heels of a terrific campus trip to Maryland last weekend. h "Maryland trip was great, super great game, the fans are crazy!!" said an excited Mr. Harris.

Mr. Harris added: "We really enjoyed the game and speaking with (coach) Gary Williams after the game. He was very excited about the game and that we were there to enjoy the whole atmosphere of Maryland basketball (a victory over North Carolina). He spoke with Tobias & Tyler (younger brother) how he lets his players play."

Mr. Harris also stated that the meeting with Oklahoma went well too. "They felt he could play the small forward position, they're looking for an athletic player for that position," Torrel said.

Harris, a 2010 prospect, also took in the Syracuse victory over St. John's last night at Madison Square Garden. Syracuse previously was in to watch Tobias practice along with a coach from Villanova.

Harris has a boatload of scholarship offers. Please check the database for the list. Mr. Harris has previously indicated they would like to cut the list down after the school year is up.
