2011 New Jersey Guard Offered by Area College

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a new report on the recruiting status of 2011 New Jersey guard prospect Khalid Lewis, who was offered a scholarship by an area college ...

Khalid Lewis, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard from Trenton Catholic Academy in Hamilton, New Jersey (previously McCorristin Catholic H.S.), was offered a scholarship by Iona College, according to sources close to Lewis.

Khalid, a 2011 solid division one prospect, has had terrific momentum in his individual game after impressing last Fall at the Jimmy Salmon-run Eddie Griffin Challenge.

His season has been impressive enough for him also to receive interest from Fairfield, Penn, Rider, Michigan State, and Penn State.

"Khalid continues to grow," said Matt Pauls. "He's one of the best defensive and rebounding guards in the state of New Jersey."

Lewis is likely to play spring and summer AAU ball for Pauls' Team NJABC AAU program.

Previously, we reported that Lewis also had interest from Fordham, Robert Morris, Monmouth, Drexel, and St. Joe's.
