PLAYER PROFILE UPDATE: Jamel Fields

HEIGHT: 6-foot-2

WEIGHT: 178 Pounds

HIGH SCHOOL: Albany Academy in Albany, New York

POSITIONS: Point Guard/Shooting Guard

COLLEGE INTERESTS: Fairfield has done a tremendous job of evaluating talent in the tri-state area, reaching deeper into New York State by landing a verbal commitment early in the recruiting process from Fields.

This isn't surprising to us. The head coach is as good as any in the area and his assistants work their backsides off. So the program at Fairfield is in good shape with the ability of the staff to evaluate talent and to land the commitments.

WHAT ALBANY CITY ROCKS PROGRAM DIRECTOR JIM HART SAYS OF JAMEL FIELD'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Jamel presents problems for smaller guards with his strength. He has the ability to score in the paint due to his strength.

BEST GAME OF THE YEAR FOR JAMEL FIELDS?:

Fields scored 27 points to help his team upend a very talented Bishop Loughlin High School of the highly regarded Catholic League in New York City.

PREVIOUS EVALUATION:

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES IN JAMEL FIELDS' INDIVIDUAL GAME: It can be said that his strength and weakness is measured from his confidence and aggressiveness.

Jamel has always had the heart and strength to take his dribble to the front of the rim against the big frames. Not afraid to get knocked down, he make the spinning drive to draw the hard foul too.
