According to several published reports, former Long Island forward Quincy Hankins will play for Nebraska starting next season.

The 6-foot-8, 238-pound forward from Roosevelt High School in Roosevelt, N.Y. (Long Island), averaged 16 points and 12 rebounds per contest for Polk Community College in Florida.

According to Huskerextra.com, Hankins also considered South Florida, Rutgers, Oklahoma, Seton Hall, St. John's, South Carolina, and Alabama-Birmingham.

The article had mentioned Georgia Tech as also being a school of interest but we couldn't confirm this particular program as being seriously involved.

Hankins will have two years of eligibility for the Big 12 school.
