Padgett & U.S. All-Stars run past Baltimore

Towson, Md. -- Lincoln High's James Padgett scored 22 points on 11-13 shooting, earning MVP honors at the ninth annual Charm City Challenge Sunday at the Towson Center in suburban Baltimore.

The United States All-Stars rolled past the Baltimore All-Stars 112-86, in a match up featuring 10 players in the ESPNU top 100. Baltimore was led by Delaware bound Devon Saddler (Aberdeen), and Terrell Vinson (St.Frances, undecided) who scored 16 points and 15 points, respectfully.

Richard Howell, who is headed to NC State next season, was a force in the paint scoring 17 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Maryland recruit Jordan Williams had 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots for the United States team.

In the preliminary game, Ja'Quan Jones of Lake Clifton carried the City All-Stars over the County All-Stars with 20 points. City held on to win 89-86, with Darrius Gilmore (Princeton Day, Lake Clifton, undecided) knocking down three free throws with 11.3 seconds left. The County team was led by Donn Hill (Bel Air, undecided) with 17 points, and Micquante Green (Patapsco, undecided) who had 16 points.

Dunk and Three Point Contest Results

Matt Rum (Loyola, William & Mary) of the Baltimore team out dueled Dalton Pepper (West Virginia) of the U.S. Team to win the three point contest by making 33 of 40 shots. In the dunk contest, the U.S. Team's Tristian Spurlock (Virginia) edged Antoine Allen (Mississippi Christian Acad., Lake Clifton, Miami) of the Baltimore squad to take the title.
