Two Big East Schools Offer Two-Sport Prospect

Reporter Mike Sullivan has the story on New Jersey two-sport prospect Dontae Johnson, who received two more scholarship offers from schools in the Big East Conference ...

Dontae Johnson, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound two-sport star from The Pennington School in Pennington, New Jersey, was offered a football scholarship over the past 24 hours from Syracuse and West Virginia.

It was only a few days ago that West Coast school Stanford offered a football scholarship to the talented athlete, who also competes as a basketball player for The Pennington School and Team NJABC in AAU hoop events.

Previously, we published he had been offered by the Louisville, University of Virginia and Minnesota, according to his AAU basketball coach, Matt Pauls of Team NJABC.

Johnson, who also owns offers from Connecticut, N.C. State, Maryland, and Michigan, is also interested in Virginia Tech, Duke, Florida, and Georgia.

Johnson competes in football at the wide receiver/safety position. He's been clocked in the 40 in 4.5 seconds.

Dontae also has the option of looking at academically gifted schools too since he has a 3.8 GPA.

A 2010 prospect, Dontae is expected to play for Pauls' Team NJABC this spring and summer.
