Fordham Lands Big Man From Bosnia

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a commitment story on a big man who was born in Bosnia. He will play for the Fordham basketball program as the Rams continue their impressive run of recruiting successes ...

Fahro Alihodzic, a 6-foot-10, 235-pound center from the country of Bosnia, has given a commitment to the Fordham basketball program. This is another terrific recruiting success for the coaching staff in the Bronx.

Alihodzic, who moved to England, played this past season at the Canary Basketball Academy on the under 20 National team.

It's expected the big man will help provide some strength and muscle near the rim to compliment the other recruits that Fordham has compiled this season.

Previously, this website reported that Fordham also got a commitment from Danny Thompson, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Canarias Basketball Academy in Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. Thompson played for Rob Orellana, a former Fairleigh Dickinson and St. Francis of New York assistant, at C.B.A. We recently profiled 6-foot-3 guard Lance Brown of Paterson Catholic in New Jersey after his appearance in the Michael Jordan Regional all star game.

In addition, Fordham has the commitments of 6-foot-7 combo forward Chris Gaston of New Hampton Prep in New Hampshire and 6-foot-8 Brian Freeman of the Potomac School in Virginia.
