2011 NJ Combo Guard Already Has Offers

Reporter Mike Sullivan has the story on combo guard Khalid Lewis of Trenton Catholic Academy in Hamilton, New Jersey ... Lewis already has offers on the table and could receive more in the future ...

Khalid Lewis, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard from Trenton Catholic Academy in Hamilton, New Jersey (previously McCorristin Catholic H.S.), already has a couple of division one scholarship offers on his table.

Khalid plays for Fred Falchi at Trenton Catholic.

"Khalid has offers from Robert Morris and Iona," said his AAU coach, Matt Pauls of Team NJABC.

"Fairfield, Rider, Siena, Boston University, and St. Francis are soon to offer."

Lewis, an outstanding student, also has opened up the door for more options. "Because his grades are also very good," said Pauls, "he has strong interest from Penn, Brown, and Bucknell."

It's a big summer ahead for the 2011 prospect as he prepares for his junior year on the high school level.

"Virginia Tech, Rutgers, UMass, Seton Hall and Xavier are very interested," said Pauls. "I imagine by the end of the summer he will have many more offers and a bunch more interest."

Pauls added: "Khalid is learning to play the ball quicker, rather than catching and holding. His jumpshot continues to improve, and he is shooting much more consistently.

"Additionally, he is the best rebounding and defensive guard in his class in New Jersey because of his length and athleticism. He needs to continue to get stronger so he finishes better."
