Final Look: New Rochelle Guard Prospect

Reporter Mike Sullivan gives a detailed, free and final look at the individual game of Andre Pope, who will play for St. Rose at the next level ...

Andre Pope, a 5-foot-10, 156-pound shooting guard/point guard from Iona Prep in New Rochelle, New York, is preparing to make an impact on the next level -- Division II Saint Rose.

Pope, who has showed over the past year that he's a player that can knock down a long range jumper, was recruited quite effectively by Mike Perno because Andre is a player who can help a team win games in many ways.

EVALUATION OF ANDRE POPE'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

"When he's shooting the ball .... he brings our team to another level," said Iona Prep coach Vic Quirolo, "He played great 'D', drew charges. Offensively, he made big shots."

"I'm a shooter," said Pope. "And (Quirolo) wants me to play hustle defense, get loose balls, get rebounds. I'm a high-riser, so I go to the rim and rebound."
