Kazembe Abif, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound inside forward from University High School in Newark, New Jersey, is a 2010 prospect who is already attracting division one interest in his skill level.

Certainly, a big spring and summer would help him forge some scholarship offers and increase the interest in his recruiting process.

He is expected to play for highly regarded head coach Matt Pauls of Team NJABC at some AAU events over the next few months.

"He's a player who plays above the rim and effectively in the paint," said Pauls.

"He's also improving his perimeter game, trying to make himself a more versatile player on the offensive end," Pauls added.

There are several schools taking a look at him, including Stony Brook, Fairfield, Fordham, etc. Pauls said many schools in the MAAC and Atlantic 10 are keeping an eye on his progress.

*Abif is also a very good student too so the Ivy and Patriot League schools are watching him.

"He's a very good athlete that can dunk on you at any moment," Pauls concluded.
