Joey Gripper, a 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard from Abington Friends High School in Jenkintown, Penn., continues to make progress in his individual game.

Gripper completed his sophomore season averaging 10 points, five assists and three steals per game for the Kangaroos. On the AAU circuit, he is putting up 14 points, nine assists, and four steals a game.

Gripper made the all tournament team at the Southern Invitational. He is expected to compete at the Reebok University's Camp in Atlanta during the July evaluation period.

The good news here as well is Joey has two more high school seasons to make improvements in his individual game. And division one colleges and universities are starting to pick up interest in his skill level.

Drexel has already offered a free ride to Gripper. LaSalle and St. Joe's are showing interest too as well as Harvard and Pennsylvania. His family told us this evening that he remains wide open in his recruiting process.
