Local Guard Having Great Spring and Summer

Reporter Mike Sullivan examines the individual game of a guard prospect from the state of New Jersey, who has had a very good spring and summer thus far on the AAU circuit ...

Khalid Lewis, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard from Trenton Catholic Academy in Hamilton, New Jersey (previously McCorristin Catholic H.S.), has had a very good spring and summer so far on the AAU circuit. And, Lewis is gaining momentum in his recruiting process due to his solid play playing the game of basketball.

Lewis, who plays for head coach Fred Falchi at Trenton Catholic, recorded a wonderful weekend at Fordham University in the Bronx, N.Y. only a weekend ago when he competed for Matt Pauls' Team NJABC AAU basketball program.

MATT PAULS' ON KHALID LEWIS' INDIVIDUAL GAME AND PROGRESS:

His recruitment has gone through the roof. He can score from any spot on the floor and he's doing it on a consistent basis. He plays hard on every possession too.

He dunks on his defenders too and can hit the deep ball.

He is the best rebounding and defensive guard in his class in New Jersey because of his length and athleticism. He needs to continue to get stronger so he finishes better.

I expect him to land more scholarship offers by the time the summer AAU season is over. He's improving each week because he's a hard worker and he's understanding the game more.

UNIVERSITIES/COLLEGES OF INTEREST;

*Lewis is also a terrific student and does have the interest of the Ivy and Patriot League programs.
