Northeast Guard's A Key For Albany City Rocks

Reporter Mike Sullivan updates a guard from the Northeast who will play with the Albany City Rocks AAU team this July at some key basketball tournaments ...

Kyle Callanan, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound lead guard from the Albany City Rocks AAU basketball program, is expected to be a key for the team's success in the next three weeks.

Callanan will play with the Rocks at the Peach Jam and Super Showcase this month for head coach and program director, Jim Hart. "I like it when the ball is in his hands," said Hart. "He does a great job in making the right decisions. I think he's our best ballhandler."

Callanan, who hails from Mount Anthony in the state of Vermont, has already had terrific success playing for the Albany City Rocks AAU program. "He's played both positions in the backcourt for us," said Hart.

"He's grown and gotten stronger," added Hart. "He's heard from Central Connecticut, Fairfield, Maine and Holy Cross."
