East Coast Guard Continues July Successes

Reporter Mike Sullivan spoke to Team Phenom AAU head coach Paul Gripper about some of his players and the successes they are having in the July evaluation period ...

Devin Coleman, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound shooting guard/small forward from Friends Central High School in Wynnewood, Penn., continues to flourish in the July evaluation period.

Team Phenom head coach Paul Gripper gave us an update on his progress. "He scored 24 points, including seven of nine from the three point line," Gripper said.

In addition, guard Joey Gripper scored 13 points, produced 13 assists and five steals to help Team Phenom to claim a 76-59 victory at the West Virginia Jamfest. Gripper also has had a solid spring and summer.

Coleman played for the 16 and under team and we've already outlined some of his more impressive performances this spring and summer. Below is a previously detailed report on it:

1. Made the all tournament team at the Bob Gibbons Memorial Day Classic held in North Carolina.

2. Selected to the all tourney team at the Southern Invitational in Charlottesville, Virginia.

3. Honored with being named to the all tournament team at the Pitt Jamfest.

Devin is currently averaging 26 points a game for Gripper's AAU team.

Devin is just 16 years old and already has scholarship offers from Siena, St. Joe's, La Salle, Temple, and Delaware.
