Albany City Rocks Big Man Has Some Offers

Reporter Mike Sullivan has an update on Albany City Rocks big man Hippolyte Tsafack, who is producing some solid games this summer for head coach Jim Hart and also has some division one offers ...

Hippolyte Tsafack, a 6-foot-8, 230-pound inside forward/center from the Miller School in Charlottesville, Virginia, has produced some fine games this summer for his AAU coach, Jim Hart of the Albany City Rocks.

"He has done a great job, giving us energy and strength in the paint," said Hart. "He's working real hard to improve all parts of his game."

Tsafack has some decent offers too. "He's got offers from Auburn and Maryland," said Hart. "He also has interest from Duke, Notre Dame, New Mexico, and Houston."

Tsafack is expected to compete with the Albany City Rocks, starting Friday at the Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Florida. The Rocks will be trying to land the title in the 17 and under category at the Super Showcase. Most of the games will be played in the Milk House.

PREVIOUSLY THOUGHTS BY ALBANY CITY ROCKS AAU HEAD COACH JIM HART:

"He's already got an NBA body. He is a great offensive rebounder. He is so strong. He's certainly going to be a very good division one college basketball player. When he makes a mistake, he tends to let it affect him for the next three or four possessions.

"I would like to see him is just shake it off, forget about it, and focus on the next possession. If he is able to do this, his consistency level will rise and he'll become a more productive player."
