Rocks' Big Man Landing Some Big East Interest

Reporter Mike Sullivan updates the shot-blocking big man from the Albany City Rocks, Brice Kofane, who is starting to land some high division one interest in his recruiting process ...

Brice Kofane, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward from The Miller School in Charlottesville, Virginia, has become a force of energy for head coach Jim Hart and his Albany City Rocks AAU boys basketball program this month.

"He had 16 blocks against the Gauchos in a game this month," said Hart, who believes Kofane is just starting to see his recruiting process pick up. "How many guys can give you double digits in blocks almost any game?"

It appears more schools are starting to notice Kofane, who will be with the Rocks starting Friday to play in the Super Showcase, being held in Orlando, Florida at the Milk House on the grounds of Disney World.

"We've heard from Connecticut and La Salle recently," said Hart. "Fairfield, Boston College, Harvard, and Columbia have been involved."

Brice, a rising senior and member of the 2010 class, is obviously a great student too.

WHAT JIM HART THINKS OF BRICE KOFANE'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

"He's a great defender, helps out out so much near the basket. He's working on his skills now. He is a high-energy player for us. He lifts us. He can create havoc near the rim on both ends of the court."
