New Jersey Prospect Has More D-1 Interest

Reporter Mike Sullivan has an update on New Jersey prospect Markese Tucker, who is playing for Team NJABC this week at the Super Showcase ...

Markese Tucker, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound forward from Trenton Catholic Academy in Hamilton, New Jersey, has made enough strides to develop consistent division one interest in his individual game, according to head coach Matt Pauls of Team NJABC.

Tucker is competing this week with Team NJABC at the 17 and under Super Showcase held at the Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on the grounds of Disney World.

Team NJABC previously claimed the Joe Brown Memorial tournament in Englewood, New Jersey.

"He has been playing very well," said Pauls. "He's scoring the ball at the rim, nailing the 15-foot jumpers, and rebounding like a man child.

Because of his solid play this past spring and now during the July evaluation period, Markese has generated some decent division one interest in his individual game.

"He will be a perfect power forward in the MAAC, NEC or America East," said Pauls.

We have previously reported that Fairfield, St. Francis (NY), Mount Saint Mary's, Robert Morris, Quinnipiac, Iona, Rider, Canisius, and St. Francis (PA) were showing interest.

"He's still open," said Pauls.
