Upstate Forward Chooses A School

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a breaking commitment story on upstate forward Pat Moore, who is a valuable member of the Albany City Rocks AAU basketball team ...

Pat Moore, a 6-foot-6 combo forward from Notre Dame High School in Utica, N.Y., has decided to attend Colgate, according to his AAU coach, Jim Hart of the Albany City Rocks.

Moore had some earlier interest from Providence, Ivy League, Patriot League, MAAC, and Atlantic Ten schools.

"It's close enough so his family can go see him play a lot," said Hart. "And the reputation of Colgate as a great academic school was important to him in making the decision."

Moore competed for Hart's 17 and under Albany City Rocks AAU team during the July evaluation period. He also had a great Eastern Invitational camp. Moore is a solid player, possessing good enough skills in several aspects of the game.

A gifted athlete who seems to succeed in the most stressful sport challenges, Moore will have many options as he moves towards a decision regarding his college career.

Moore has the basketball smarts and skill level to help his teams win close contests. Pat has down it a number of ways too from our personal experience of watching him compete mainly on the AAU level.

Pat, in the past, has hit clutch free throws, dived on a floor to get a loose ball, grab rebounds in traffic, or hit a corner jumper.
