Joey Gripper, a 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard from Abington Friends High School in Jenkintown, Penn., continues to have a very successful summer. Gripper dropped in 13 points to help Team Phenom claim a first round playoff victory in the NIKE Chosen League.

Joey is coming off a solid July evaluation period, generating more division one interest in his skill level.

Previously, we reported that Gripper had some interest from Northeastern. Davidson had been peeking at Joey's individual game too.

Joey played with the 16 and under Team Phenom AAU team based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He averaged 12 points, seven assists and three steals for Team Phenom over the past couple of months of AAU tournament play.

Here are some highlights of Joey's summer:<

REEBOK EAST SUMMER EVENT:

Gripper, who made the all tournament team, tallied 15 assists in a semifinal playoff game game at the event and also scored 14 points and had 11 assists in the team's championship victory. Team Phenom defeated the New York Panthers, 68-57.

*Joey made the all tournament team at the Southern Invitational in Charlottesville, Virginia.
