East Coast Big Man Excels In League Play

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a brief update on the summer of big man Markus Kennedy, who has the physical skills to be a solid division one college basketball player ...

Markus Kennedy, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound center who competed for Living Faith/Apex Academy in New Jersey last season, produced 24 points for the Thaddeus Young sponsored team in the Chosen League playoffs held in Philadelphia, Penn.

Last April, national reporter Dave Telep published a story that Kennedy was returning home to Philadelphia to play college basketball for Villanova in the Big East Conference.

Kennedy's effort in the semifinals helped ihs game defeat Team Phenom, 100-90.

Kennedy, a 2010 prospect who also had transferred from St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey, previously had major interest from several Big East basketball programs as well as some national interest.

We saw Kennedy play extensively when he competed for Matt Pauls' Team NJABC AAU program a summer ago down at the Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Florida on the grounds of Disney World.
