East Coast Guard Scores Big In League Play

Tony Chennault, a 6-foot-1 point guard out of St. John Neumann-Goretti in Philadelphia, Penn., produced 31 points to help his team, DaVilla upend Hunting Park, 99-85, in a semifinal playoff game held in the Chosen League, a tournament held in Philadelphia, Penn.

Chennault has impressed many coaches and scouts over the past year with his play, including Team NJABC head coach Matt Pauls.

Chennault competed with Team NJABC at the Super Showcase in Orlando, Florida at the Wide World of Sports complex on the grounds of Disney World during the July evaluation period, a timeframe when college coaches scout the best players.

Pauls said that Tony was tremendous in breaking his defender with his handle. Team NJABC had some impressive victories in Florida with Tony in the backcourt.

Chennault, who already has given a commitment to Wake Forest after receiving serious interest from Rutgers, Indiana, Marquette, and Villanova, is a guard who can produce points in bunches. He hopes to improve the consistency in his perimeter game before he play division one college basketball.
