His AAU basketball coach, Matt Pauls, said Spears had a terrific summer playing for his 17 and under Team NJABC program.
"My recruiting has been quiet right now," said Spears. "But I plan on getting up to Akron for a game and check out the campus."
Because of Spear's play on the hardwood, Team NJABC had a terrific run in a two-week stretch during the July evaluation period. Pauls' team won nine of 10 games, only losing to the New York Panthers in the quarterfinals at the Summer Classic.
In addition, during the month of July, Team NJABC captured the Joe Brown Memorial tournament run by the Playaz Club of New Jersey.
Spears has a basketball offer from Lafayette. He also has interest from Rider, Bucknell, La Salle, Stony Brook, Princeton, Cornell, and Yale.
Harold can run the 40 in 4.6 seconds. Pauls stated that Connecticut, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Maryland, and Boston College were among the schools on his list.
Harold also has a 3.9 grade point average, opening up more opportunities down the road for him.
